What's Happening in the Dressage World?

Italian international Grand Prix rider Silvia Rizzo has been bestowed with the prestigious Chi E' Chi Award in the Sport Category for being Italy's brightest ambassador of elegance and style in the international sport world for 2015.

Described as the "Italian princess of elegance and style" The 38-year old Rizzo got the award in a special ceremony at the Palazzo Reale in Milan, Italy during Milan Fashion Week on Tuesday 22 September 2015. Rizzo was dressed for the occasion by Sinequanone, Tara Jarmon and Amato Daniele.

The Chi E' Chi Awards are organized in collaboration with the city of Milan and in media partnership with Condé Nast, which hosts Vogue Fashion Week in Milan. Chi E' Chi bestows awards to ambassadors in fashion, design, sports, beauty, film, art and music, food and charity which have best represented Italy as a country worldwide.

Chi E' Chi is an Italian business and lifestyle magazine covering the automotive, fashion, design, sports, tourism, aviation, transport and food industry.

Rizzo received the award from Silvia Paoli, founder and editor-in-chief of lostinfashion.it, and from Andrea Rinaldo, the CEO of Xmetrics, a young innovative Italian start-up founded in 2014 which helps people to improve their sport performances.

Chi E' Chi motivated its choice for Rizzo as the 2015 Sports Award recipient because "by riding her horses, she exports all over the world Italian elegance, a fashion sensibility and the ability to be trendy in a sport as unique as dressage."

"I'm thrilled and over the moon with this award," said an ecstatic Rizzo. "I'm honoured to get recognized as an ambassador of style, elegance and fairplay in sport by Chi E' Chi which represents major fashion, lifestyle and sport companies. They could have chosen an athlete from much more popular disciplines, such as soccer, tennis or athletics but instead opted for a dressage rider. It is a great opportunity to expose dressage to the mainstream. The Chi E' Chi awards get major publicity and reach a massive audience in Italy. With the future of dressage as an Olympic discipline uncertain, this can be a big help."

Rizzo added: "I'm incredibly grateful and want to express my sincere thanks to Laura Smagliato, the director of Your Image Communication, and Cristiana Schieppati, the director of Chi E' Chi, for this honour."
