The Hanoverian licensed breeding stallion Wolkentanz II has passed away on 8 September 2015 at age 20. The stallion was euthanized at his Canadian home Crooked Creek and Woodhaven Farms.

"Due to his age his health deteriorated and the decision was made on September 8th 2015 that it was time to say good bye," Nancy Schmidt and Kathleen Sulz  reported. "We were very fortunate to have Wolkentanz II in North America and he will always be remembered for his gentle soul and his love of people and attention. His offspring continue his legacy all over the world with many SPS mares and approved sons. Many of his North American offspring are starting their riding and show careers with the promise to bring pleasure and success to their owners for many years to come."

Wolkentanz II was born in 1995 and bred by Georg Brinkemöller. He was by Weltmeyer out of Lovely (by Ludendorff x Aristedes x Furioso II). He was discovered as a foal by Johannes Westendarp who owned, trained, competed and stood him at stud via stallion station Bockmann until 2009.

He was licensed at the 1997 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing in Oldenburg in 1997 and one month later at the Hanoverian licensing in Verden. He was the reserve champion of the 100-day Stallion Performance Test in Medingen in 1999 with a winning score of 143.94 for dressage and 85.37 points for show jumping. He totalled 133.56 points to finish second overall.

Under Westendarp, Wolkentanz II finished fourth at the 1998 Bundeschampionate as a 3-year old and was competed at the 2000 World Young Horse Championships in Arnheim, The Netherlands, as a 5-year old. Wolkentanz II finished fifth at the 2001 Bundeschampionate in the 6-year old division. The chestnut stallion was shown up to Intermediaire I level and did his last competition in Einen, Germany, in September 2007. The combination competed at one international CDI event at FEI level, the 2006 CDI Lingen.

Wolkentanz II produced 301 registered sport horses in Germany of which 22 are successful at S-level. He has 11 licensed offspring in Germany and sired 214 brood mares of which 38 are State Premium.

In 2009 Wolkentanz II sold to Canada where he continued to stand at stud until his death six years later.
