Austrian Victoria Max-Theurer captured the Grand Prix for Kur at the beautiful CDI Fritzens hosted at Klaus and Evelyn Haim-Swarovski's equestrian Schindlhof on Saturday 27 June 2015. In their first competition since the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, Max-Theurer and Augustin OLD scored 75.80% to win the Grand Prix.

British Michael Eilberg and his Russian bred 15-year old Marakov (by Rufs) landed second place with 73.60% and edged out Isabell Werth on the 14-year old Rhinelander El Santo (by Ehrentusch), who finished third on 72.920%.

The weather in Fritzens on Saturday was a bit wild with rain and thunder, and right before Max-Theurer entered the ring it started to pour. That did not dampen the spirit of Austria's number one Grand Prix rider and she steered Augustin into the winner's circle.

"I don't mind the weather," the 29-year old smiled. "The thunder however bothered Augustin. During the warm up he pricked his ears and was wondering where the tiger was hidden. That's why I'm very happy that in the arena he focused back on me. There is still more left in the tank in some movements but still he did a good job today."

The host of the show, Evelyn Haim-Swarovski, finished in 10th place on her talented 13-year old Danish mare Dorina (by Don Schufro x Ragtime) with a score of 66.220%. She qualified for the freestyle on Sunday.
