Dressage riders started their competitions on day four of Future Champions -- the CDIO-PJYR Hagen -- at the Hof Kasselmann in Hagen at the Teutoburg Forest on Thursday 18 June 2015.  The junior riders performed in the Nations Cup with the German team competing against five other teams from Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Hungary.

The German junior team under supervision of Christoph Koschel, who is a neighbour of Hof Kasselmann, clinched victory with a 17 points advantage, followed by Denmark.

Kristin Biermann (Essen) scored the best result of 72,11% for the host nation with Fanfani. Felicitas Hendricks (Hagen a.T.W.) and Faible-As and Rebecca Horstmann (Ganderkesee) with Friend of mine completed the team. Danish team trainer Ulrik Gerstorf Sørensen nominated Laura Haviid, Victoria Valentin and Sille Engermann to compete for the Danish team.

Two German riders also won the international tour without nations cup scoring. Bettina Nuscheler from Altenstadt rode the Florestan I-daughter Fascinate and won the junior rider’s test with 71,39%. Johannes Rühl from Idstein dominated the young riders’ test with his horse Dante (72,19%), followed by Leonie Richter from Bad Essen with Salcido (70,78%).

German Young Riders Win As Well

Young riders of host nation Germany dominated as well. Julia de Ridder from Aachen won the individual scoring with her mare Comtessa and 71.79%, achieving the best result for the team scoring. She won the Nations Cup together with Vivian Scheve from Dortmund and Jessica Krieg from Heinsberg.

However, not the competitors from Denmark nor the Netherlands were to follow Germany in this test – the young riders from Finland and Poland snatched the coveted Future Champion-ribbons for the second and third place. The 21-year-old Julius von Staff-Reitzenstein and Stepdancer (70.57%) from Finland achieved the best result of the test. The performance of Jan Gawecki and Quest from Poland were honoured with 69.73%. The overall result in the individual scoring: de Ridder (GER), followed by Staff-Reitzenstein (FIN) and Gawecki (POL).

German Pony Riders Dominate

The competitions in the international tour with the pony, junior and young riders were held in the two dressage stadiums at the Hof Kasselmann in the morning of Friday 19 June 2015.

The 16-year-old Kim Burschik won the junior division with 73.25 points. The rider from Iserlohn competed with the Ruiz Soler-daughter Powerfee GB, purchased at the Hof Kasselmann. She has only been riding the mare since this year now. Julie Liocouras from Denmark earned 71.35% with her Danish warmblood Pantani, clinching victory in the division of young riders.

Nadine Krause and Danilo (75.85%) came out on top with the pony riders, followed by Semmieke Rothenberger with Paso Double (73.88%). Both riders travelled from Bad Homburg to Hagen a.T.W.
