Daphne van Peperstraten became the winner of the 2014-2015 KNHS FEI Pony Cup, sponsored by Felix Juristen, of which the finals were held in Etten-Leur, The Netherlands, on 13 - 14 June 2015. Aboard her 11-year old NRPS pony Don Camillo du Bois (by Dornik B x Eduard) van Peperstraten dominated the finals as well as the overall ranking.
In Etten-Leur, van Peperstraten shared the first place in the team test with Eveline Bos on Valentino (by Dornik Double) but in the Kur to Music, Daphne scored 74.9% for victory and topped the ranking for the overall title as well. She is trained by Coby van Baalen and still has one more year to go in ponies in 2016, even though she will begin riding junior riders this year.
"It's not an automatic victory," van Peperstraten commented about her win. "Each time it's a surprise if I have won. It went really well in both tests and I did some good riding. This was only the second time that I rode my new freestyle and everybody is very enthusiastic about it. I like Neal Diamond's music. It's a fun freestyle and I get good reactions to it."
Eveline Bos and her German bred Valentino scored approximately 73% in the Kur to Music and finished second overall. Zoe Kuintjes and the German bred Elin's Nonsisdador (by Nostradamus) were third overall.
The Finals in Etten-Leur were the last observation trial for Dutch team selection for the 2015 European Pony Championships. Dutch team trainer Tineke Bartels will anounce the pony team this week.
