Dr. Wilfried Bechtolsheimer has acquired the 8-year old Dutch warmblood stallion Capri Sonne Jr as FEI prospect for his daughter Laura Tomlinson-Bechtolsheimer. The black stallion has left for the U.K. on Wednesday 15 April 2015.

Capri Sonne Jr is bred by Renate van Steijn-van der Vliet and was owned by Jan Cees van der Endt. He is by Rhodium out of Wendela (by San Remo x Glendale). The black stallion is approved for the AES, Oldenburg and KWPN studbook but has only bred very little.

Under Dinja van Liere the horse was highy successful in the young horse classes. He won bronze at the 2012 World Young Horse Championships but did not pass the vet check at the 2013 World Championships due to an injury. In 2014 he became Dutch Indoor Champion at Z-Licht level.  A few months ago he won the 2015 Dutch Indoor Championships at small tour level.

Van Liere is saddened to loose her equine partner. "Goodbye my lover, goodbye my friend. You have been the one, you have been the one for me," she wrote on her Facebook.

It was no secret that Capri Sonne Jr was for sale and he has now found a new owner in the Bechtolsheimer family. Laura will be preparing him for Grand Prix level with her coach Klaus Balkenhol and under the supervision of her father Wilfried.
