2015 CDI Hagen

It will be hardly four weeks before the four-star equestrian event Horses & Dreams meets Australia will be held at Hof Kasselmann in Hagen am Teutoburger Wald, Germany, on 22 - 26 April  2015. Change is in store for this highly celebrated event that always seeks for improvement and raising the bar.

“Improvement is our goal, to make it more convenient for visitors, riders and exhibitors,” says host and organizer Ulli Kasselmann who is pleased about the new concept that will make Horses & Dreams more weather-independent in the future.

Since the beginning of March, construction machinery is working at the foot of the Hagen Borgberg, creating predominantly an improved infrastructure. New tarmac was used to renew the street Loheiden Knapp and the main exhibition track shines as newly paved five meter wide shopping mile. Access to the parking areas as well as the walkways to access the event will be widened and graveled. The facilities around the show jumping stadium were provided with a new roof so that now visitors can enjoy a new view from the public tent including catering area at the long side of the stadium, right opposite to the stands.

Australia is the tenth host country placed in the cantre of attention at Horses & Dreams; not at the original area below the show jumping stadium any more, but virtually right in the centre of the event. The Australian village at the former venue of the plaza between the children’s area and lifestyle exhibition invites to enjoy and to discover the host country.

The footing is also renewed for riders and horses , providing now top conditions for the athletes. “High Score Performance Ground (HSPG)” mats are placed in the show jumping stadium. These mats provide perfect conditions: joint-protection for the horses and an increased security potential for the riders. A HIC-test (Head Injury Criterion) was applied to check the efficiency of the mats. Compared to other riding grounds, the risk of severe head injuries was reduced by more than 50%. HSPG has been designed by “Horse Competence Centre Germany (HCCG), situated at the Gestüt Osthoff in Georgsmarienhütte, in co-operation with the University of Osnabrück. The footing in the dressage stadium, already equipped with mats, will be newly graded by laser these days.
