Hanoverian Breeding News

The Celle state stud Hanoverian breeding stallion Londontime has become the winner of the 2015 Grande Prize. Since 2009 the Grande Prize is awarded to the breeder of a well producing Hanoverian stallion.

The Grande prize is bestowed annually upon a 10 to 12-year old stallion who has proven himelf as a producer that stamps its offspring.

Londontime (by Londonderry x Walt Disney) is bred by Christina Hellwege-Tiedemann from Oberndorf, Germany. She received the trophy at the Verden Auction on 28 March 2015.

Londontime was licensed at the 2004 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing and sold to the American Bertrand Page. The chestnut did his Stallion Performance Test in Adelheidsdorf and then sold as 4-year old at the Verden Elite Auction for 510,000 euro to Gabriele Berner, CEO of the fruit juice company Cellagon. After the auction issues with the insurance of the stallion followed but after Klaus Bunger co-invested in the horse the matters were solved.  Ever since then he has been standing at stud in Celle and the state stud is surprizingly listed as official owner with the German Equestrian Federation.

The Hanoverian verband stated that Londontime's offspring stand out by their "type and elegance, especially when they are positively influenced through Lauries Crusador xx blood. These brilliant types are often paired with high movement quality."

Londontime has been trained by Wolfhard Witte up to S-level. He finished 7th at the 2007 Bundeschampionate as a 5-year old and 17th in the consolation finals of the 2008 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. Between the summer of 2008 and 2011 he was not shown at all. He did one competition in August 2011, three in 2013 at M and S-level and one local show in 2014.

Londontime has two 2007 born offspring competing in Germany at S-level at the moment: Lexington (Friederike Beyer) and Lifetime (Anne Horstmann). He has sired 8 licensed sons and 14 State Premium mares so far.

Previous winners of the Grande Prize are Dancier (2014), Perigueux (2013), Desperados (2012) and Stolzenberg (2011).
