2015 CDI Vidauban

Sweden’s Patrik Kittel and his 11-year-old Swedish warmblood mare Deja danced to victory in the 10,000 euro WDM Grand Prix on Friday 13 March 2015 under the blue sunny sky in Vidauban, France. The pair scored 76.120% and Deja (by Silvano x Don Schufro) was easy going, diligent and light-footed.

Patrik was really happy with his top score on Deja and is looking forward to the Freestyle on Sunday.

Newcomer pair Gonçalo Carvalho and his 9-year-old mare Batuta (by Quixote x Icaro) were a pleasant surprise. The horse has charisma and the potential to become a top performer. She has a real good passage and piaffe and good basic gaits, which is not common for a Lusitano. They still had some little mistakes in their test, but the mare is still young, and has the time on her side to develop further. In 2011 and 2013 he represented Portugal at the European Championships, in 2010 he competed at the World Equestrian Games and in 2012 he finished 16th at the London Olympic Games. The combination scored 73.140% and will start in the Grand Prix Special tomorrow.

Third place went to Italy’s Valentina Truppa and Chablis with 69.860%. They performed a very correct test that showed experience. Valentina was pleased with her test, “it was one of the best ever with ‘blondy’.

In the WDM U-25 Grand Prix France’s Charlotte Chalvignac and her KWPN gelding Zilverster were the best with 67.558%. Four out of the five judges placed her in first place. The combination showed a powerful test.
