Promising Kick Off for 2015 CDI Hagen at Horses & Dreams Meets Australia

2015 CDI Hagen

It is a tradition that Horses & Dreams, this year held from 22 - 26 April 2015 at the Hof Kasselmann, kicks off the outdoor season of the international tournament calendar in Germany, and it is at the same time the first venue of some of the most important equestrian series in Germany: The DKB-Riders Tour, Meggle Champions, Louisdor-Prize and Nuremberg Cup.

It will be the first time that the performances of rider-horse-duos will be tested in 2015 under the open sky at the four-star-tournament in Hagen at the Teutoburg Forest with the opportunity to collect important points for the four mentioned series.

The DKB-Riders Tour introduces the show season 2015 in the jumper stadium at the Hof Kasselmann. The most important German show jumping series was launched in 2001, encompassing six stages to finally finish at the Munich Indoors in November. It was a perfect season start for Holger Wulschner when he won the qualifier in April 2014 in Hagen, and he concluded the season with one of his biggest successes as he finally won the title “Rider of the Year” at the end of the year. Holger Wulschner returns as title holder to Hagen: title holder of the first stage and winner of the whole series.

Last weekend, the Final of Meggle Champions was held in Dortmund with the winner being a well-known rider who started her sports career in Hagen and who already won a number of tests before: Kristina Sprehe from Dinklage won the series Meggle Champions with her Desperados FRH for the third time. She already left the Almased Dressage Stadium at the first stage of the series in Hagen as champion when she won the classic Grand Prix Special. This test is the decisive qualifier for the Meggle Champions-series, and only the best four horse-rider-combinations of each stage are entitled to compete at the Final in spring 2016.

The four-legged futurity dressage prospects show up at the Almased Dressage Stadium in a series, particularly designed for them. All age-groups are represented in Hagen: The 7- to 9-year-old dressage horses at the Prix St. Georges Special for the Nuremberg Cup and the 8- to 10-year-old young Grand Prix-horses for the Louisdor-Prize. Weihegold OLD demonstrated with her rider Beatrice Buchwald how to successfully complete the two dressage series for futurity prospects on their way to the upper dressage levels. They won the Final of the Nuremberg Cup in December 2013, headed for gold at the Louisdour-Prize-qualifier in Hagen in April 2014 and won the Final in Frankfurt in December 2014.
