Dutch Emmelie Scholtens has taken over the ride on Dancer, the 2014 World Young Horse Champion of the 6-year olds. After being successfully shown by Kirsten Brouwer, the chestnut stallion will be introduced to FEI level competition by Scholtens.

The 7-year old Dutch warmblood stallion Dancer (by Vivaldi x Tango x Krack C) is owned by Emmelie Scholtens, Jeroen Witte and Ad Valk.

Scholtens started the young stallion, who is approved for Oldenburg breeding, and competed him in the 2012 VSN Trophy Finals for 3-year olds in which the pair finished third.

In 2013 Kirsten Brouwer took over the ride and qualified him for the World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where they finished ninth. Two weeks later the duo won the Pavo Cup Finals for 5-year olds and they went on to win the Z-licht championship at the 2014 Dutch Indoor Championships. The icing on the cake came when the pair won the finals at the 2014 World Young Horse Championships in Verden and claimed the World Champion's title.

Dancer has now returned to Scholtens' yard and was shown by Emmelie's junior rider's student Febe van Zwambagt at the KWPN Stallion Licensing show as part of the "From Verden to Tokyo" presentation of promising KWPN bred horses.

Dancer will continue his competitive career under Scholtens who is preparing him for the small tour tests.

"I don't have any short term plans with him. First we have to become a combination again," Scholtens told Eurodressage. "But most likely we'll compete again this year, first at ZZ-Zwaar level. I'm so excited!"
