Sixteen German Under 25 combinations have been selected to compete on the 2015 Piaff Forderpreis show circuit following a training seminar and selection trial in Warendorf, Germany, on 24 - 25 January 2015.
The Piaff Forderpreis is the official show series for German Under 25 Grand Prix combinations. This celebrated formula has been copied by several nations, first in The Netherlands as the Rabo Future Cup and then in the U.S.A. as the Brentina Cup. Now the international circuit is just categorized as the Under 25 division at CDI's.
In Germany riders need to be selected to ride the Piaff Forderpreis tests. All candidates who aspire to compete on the circuit have to present themselves first at the training seminar. They have to ride in front of a selection panel, headed by German Grand Prix team trainer Monica Theodorescu. On the final day the combinations each ride a test and are judged by Jurgen Koschel, Katrina Wust and Evi Eisenhardt.
"It was a very good seminar with good participation, a very enjoyable atmosphere and a good co-operation with all the home trainers," Theodrorescu commented. "You could notice that some have more test experience than others, but there was also a very appealing amount of young riders with young horses."
Only six of sixteen selected combinations were duos with experience on the circuit; the rest were all newcomers. The winner of the test was routinier Sanneke Rothenberger on Wolke Sieben (74.651%), followed by experienced Grand Prix rider Annabel Frenzen with Cristobal (72.287%). She also presented a second horse, Gershwin. Sophie Holkenbrink and Rock Forever were the best new comers with a third place and 72,054% score.

The first reserve combination is Friederike Hahn on Destino.
