Right before the New Year Helen Langehanenberg has lost a second Grand Prix ride. Her 11-year old rising Grand Prix horse Rohjuwel sold to Kazuo Maezawa from Japan.

The Oldenburg bred Rohjuwel is bred by Theodor Wilken and is by Rohdiamant x Castro x Luxus.  German jumping rider Heiner Rohmann acquired Rohjuwel as a youngster and he was started in dressage by Wibke Hartmann-Stommel. Later on he moved to Helen Langehanenberg.

Helen and Rohjuwel finished 11th in the 5-year old dressage horse division at the 2009 Bundeschampionate. In 2010 they were 15th in the Finals for 6-year olds. The duo became highly successful at small tour level with victories in Lingen, Aachen and Mechelen. They won the Perl-Borg Nurnberger Burgpokal qualifier and were 12th in the Finals at the 2012 CDN Frankfurt. In 2013 the pair made the transition to the developing Grand Prix horse classes and finished third in the 2013 Louisdor Cup Finals in Frankfurt.

Langehanenberg did not compete Rohjuwel internationally in 2014 as the horse was offered for sale. Helen's student, Swiss Philine von Bremen, briefly showed the stallion at Prix St Georges level at a national show in Milte, but did not end up buying the horse.

Rohjuwel has now sold to Japanse business mogul Maezawa, who owns the computer company Degital.  Maezawa trains with his assistant rider Horoshi Watanabe and flies in by helicopter for his lessons from Tokyo to his own yard in Nagano, Japan.

Maezawa has sponsored Grand Prix horses for Watanabe to ride, including Sabine Schrödter's Argentina (by Argentinus) and Helly Bonylykke's Miracle Mirage (by Mago xx). The latter horse returned to Switzerland in 2012 to be competed by Sonja Ramseier.

Maezawa, who will be turning 70 on 19 January, has campaigned the 16-year old Russian warmblood Beks (by Emigrant x Bulat) at the CDI's in Japan from 2011 till 2013.
