Canadian journalist Karen Robinson interviewed the five FEI presidential candidates on topics such as sponsorship and clashes, tv coverage, endurance, conflicts of interest, the sport's Olympic position, globality, the minority disciplines, and the World Equestrian Games' format.

The FEI presidential election will take place at the FEI General Assembly on 14 December in Baku, Azerbaijan. After serving the FEI for two terms, HRH Princess Haya Bint al Hussein opted not to serve a third term.

Six candidates have declared interest in the position: Ingmar de Vos (BEL), Pierre Durand (FRA), Ulf Helgstrand (DEN), Pierre Genecand (SUI), and John McEwen (GBR). The Spanish candidate Javier Revuelta del Peral withdrew his candidature on 12 November.

Horse Sport asked each of the candidates the same 10 questions on a variety of topics that are at the heart of equestrian sport. You will find a brief bio of each, a link to any additional information they supplied, and their answers.
