The renowned foundation Welsh pony stallion Principal Boy has passed away at age 28 last week. The chestnut German Riding Pony registered stallion was profoundly stamped German sport pony breeding.

The stallion suffered a severe colic attack and had to be euthanized.

Principal Boy was born in 1986 in The Netherlands. He was sired by Tetworth Crimson Lake out of Kooihuster-Wintje  (by Downland Folklore x Conquistador).

He was licensed in 1989 in Ermelo, The Netherlands, and sold to Josef Volle in Ludingshausen, Germany. In 1991 the pony switched owners and sold to Anton Delker. Principal Boy did his 30-day Stallion Performance Testing in Munster-Handorf in 1991 and scored 7.4 finishing 12th out of 24 participating stallions.

Principal Boy has 164 registered offspring in sport. Hungarian team pony Ponyto has competed internationally at the European Pony Championships. In Germany, Bundeschampion and licensed stallion Pilgrim's Red is probably the most famous offspring. This year Prinz S.W. won silver at the 2014 Bundeschampionate.

He sired 23 licensed offspring, including Don Premissimo, Piccobello Star, Playback, Princeton, Parade, Pilgrim's Red, Power Play, Principal Touch, Pepe, Pinoccio, Prince PT and Principal's Ass.
