What's Happening in the Dressage World?

Laura Tomlinson-Bechtolsheimer and her 2 month old baby Annalisa Tomlinson attended their first wedding together. A glowing Laura joked, "our first wedding ever, even if she was a crasher."

Check out the dressage arena in the Aachen main stadium below. With brand new grass sown, the stadium looks pristine and ready for the 2015 European Dressage Championships in August.

Negotiations about the ride on Damon Hill still haven't been concluded and Helen Langehanenberg's contract is up at the end of October 2014. The news that the stallion has already moved back to his owner's yard Stable Becks in Senden is not promising and each day it becomes more unlikely that Helen will keep the ride on her number one Grand Prix horse. The stallion has been rumoured to be for sale for more than a year.

Dressur Sport Deutschland reported that Fabienne Lutkemeier was treated to a few days in the sun at the Robinson Club Soma Bay in Egypt thanks to "German Sport Help," a German sporting federation supporting German athletes of all disciplines. All medal winners in all disciplines from 2014 were invited to a break in the sun in Egypt. A total of 80 athletes travelled to Egypt and normally the entire dressage team was supposed to go but after some last minute cancellations, Lutkemeier was the only dressage rider that actually went.

American Grand Prix Emily Wagner has married her partner Jeff Miles in Vermont on 4 October 2014.  The 26-year old Lawrence, Kansas, based Wagner has competed her American warmblood Wakeup at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden, and they were the winners of the 2013 U.S. Developing Prix St Georges Horse Championship.  This year Wagner and Wakeup were the reserve champions in the 2014 Developing Grand Prix horse Championship.

British Junior Rider team member Erin Williams has acquired the 8-year old Dutch warmblood gelding Bolsan B (by Sandro Hit x Gribaldi). The dark bay gelding, which has been nicknamed Sonny, was previously trained and competed by Jennifer Sekreve in The Netherlands. Bolsan B was short listed for Dutch team selection for the 2012 World Young Horse Championships but was not selected in the end. "He's got a fantastic nature and is very talented," Williams told Eurodressage. "He's showing lots of talent in piaffe and passage steps, so I'm very excited for the future." Williams is still pondering on her 2015 show schedule and might be tackling Young Riders' level as well. She has four horses to compete: Fleurie, Bolsan, Waverley and Billionaire.

The Trakehner licensed stallion Imperio (by Connery x Balfour xx) has made his return to the show ring since injuring himself in December 2013. Under Hubertus Schmidt, the bay stallion has competed at a local show in Darmstadt-Kranichsteen. The reserve World Young Horse Champion is expected to compete at the CDI 4* in Munich on 4 - 6 November.

The Middelberg family has acquired the 11-year old chestnut German Riding Pony Don Davidoff from the Linsenhoff family. The  Don Joshi x Nightstar offspring was a Bundeschampionate medalist in 2009 under Grete Linnemann and then sold to Lena Charlotte Walterscheidt who competed the chestnut until 2012. The pony sold to Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff and was briefly competed by Marie Linsenhoff. Anna Middelberg has now made her show debut with him at the Ankum Riding Club indoor competition at beginning of October.
