Feine Lady, David, Furst Silvano, Faustus MBH Win 2014 Austrian Young Horse Championships

2014 Austrian Young Horse Championships

The 2014 Austrian Young Horse Championships took place at the big equestrian centre in Stadl Paura, Austria, on 19 - 21 September 2014 and produced Feine Lady and David as riding horse champions and Furst Silvano and Faustus MBH as dressage horse champions.  In Austria, the dressage horses classes feature mixed groups of 4 and 5-year olds as well as a a group of 5 and 6-year olds.

Fresh from returning with a silver medal at the World Young Horse Championships, Stephanie Dearing claimed gold in the 3-year old riding horse division aboard Franz Schuster's Feine Lady (by Don King x De Niro).  The horse scored 8.5 for walk, trot, and canter, 8.0 for confirmation and 9.5 and 8.7 from the guest judge riders to finish on an overall winning score of 8.67 points.  Daniel Spindler and Ramin (by Radetzky x Florestano) earned silver after scoring 8.0 for trot and canter, 8.5 for walk, 9.0 for conformation and 8.5 from both guest judge riders. Nadja Pollhammer and Lynette P (by Swarovksi x Dream of Glory) were third with 8.5 for walk, 7.5 for trot, 8.0 for canter and conformation and 9.0 and 8.9 from the test riders.

In the 4-year old riding horse classes Heinz-Jorg Wächter and Christian Aschauer's David (by Davignon II x Rosso di Sera) topped the leader board with 8.5 for walk and trot, 8.0 for canter, 9.0 for conformation and 9.5 and 9.3 from the test riders. Their overall score of 8.76 points put them well ahead of the second placed duo, Martin Hauptmann on Rotgold HK (by Rhaposario x Weltmeyer). This pair scored 8.5 for walk, 8.0 for trot, canter and conformation and 9.0 from the test riders.  Katharina Mayer and the mare Wyaona GMS (by Sir Donnerhall I x Weltmeyer) were good for bronze after earning 7.5 for walk and canter, 8.5 for trot, 7.5 for conformation and 8.5 and 8.0 from the test riders.

In the 4 and 5-year old Dressage Horse Finals Anja Luise Wessely-Trupp took highest honour aboard Franz Maier's Furst Silvano M (by Furst Romancier x Silvano). The pair scored 7.8 for trot, 7.8 for walk, 8.4 for canter, 8.0 for submission and 8.0 for general impression to win the class with 8.02. Katharina Mayer and Wyona GMS also contested the dressage horse class ( as well as the 4-year old riding horse division) and did even better in this category. She finished with silver on 7.96 points, receiving 8.7 for trot, 7.0 for walk, 8.3 for canter, 7.8 for submission and 8.0 for general impression.  Julia Strilka and Pearl (by Limoncello I x Polling) got bronze with 7.8. The mare earned 8.5 for trot, 6.5 for walk, 8.8 for canter, 7.5 for submission and 7.7 for general impression.

In the 5 and 6-year old dressage horse class Austrian WEG Team rider Renate Voglsang took the gold aboard Stefan Seiberl's Faustus MBH (by Fit for Fun x Weltmeyer) with 7.88. The horse earned 7.7 for trot and canter, 8.8 for walk, 7.5 for submission and 7.7 for general impression. Stephanie Dearing and Rosarius (by Rhaposario x Chromatico x Amigo) got silver with 7.86. This horse posted scores of 6.8 for walk, 9.0 for trot, 8.0 for canter, 7.5 for submission and 8.0 for general impression. Heinz-Jörg Wächter and Del Piero (by Diamond Hit) landed third place with 7.6. This horse got 7.5 for walk, trot and canter, 7.8 for submission and 7.7 for general impression.
