2014 CDI Fritzens

Steffen Peters and Akiko Yamazaki's 7-year old Rhinelander mare took their second small tour victory of the weekend at the 2014 CDI Frizens, hosted at Klaus and Evelyn Haim-Swarovski's picturesque farm Schindlhof in the Austrian alps. In a field of 20 competitions, the youngest horse of the pack ruled the roost.

Peters and Rosamunde (by Rock Forever x Fidermark) scored 76.026% in the Intermediaire I and stayed three percent ahead of the competition. Karin Rehbein and Marion Kallmayer's 10-year old Oldenburg mare Royal Princess M (by Royal Olymp x Donnerhall) were the runners up with 72.711%, followed by Dorothee Schneider on Gabriele Kipper's 8-year old Hanoverian gelding Showtime (by Sandro Hit x Rotspon) with 71.316 %.

"I've been working with Rosi since the end of October," Steffen Peters said after his victory. "That's why I'm so happy that everything goes so well. We'll stay in the small tour for another year. Our next show will be Aachen and next year we have the Pan American Games, which serve as qualification event for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. The Pan Ams have a small tour as well."

The best Austrian rider in this world class field was Teresa Rochelt on her own 10-year old Holsteiner mare Dolana (by Dolany x Caletto I). Rochelt, who is a cousin of show host Evelyn Haim-Swarovski, finished eight on her home schooled Dolana with 67.868%. Austrian Stefanie Palm and the Oldenburg bred Royal Happiness (by Royal Diamond) were tenth.
