2014 CDI Fritzens

In 2006 and 2007 Victoria Max-Theurer won the Swarovski Challenge Trophy at Schindlhof. This year, Austria’s number one dressage rider participates with Olympic star Augustin OLD, state champion Eichendorff, the exceptional mare Blind Date and model student Della Cavalleria OLD. She has the chance to take the trophy to Achleiten for good with her third overall victory.

The Manfred Swarovski Challenge Trophy is awarded to the most successful duo of the CDI4* at Schindlhof. The winner may keep the precious Swarovski crystal piece for one year and for good after three overall victories.

“I am always very happy when I can get to the tournament in Fritzens,” said 28-year old Victoria Max-Theurer. For Austria’s three-time Olympian this CDI4* is very special – it is a preparation for the World Equestrian Games 2014 in late August in Normandy, France. “This is the big goal. We have chosen a very specific preparation this year with only a few selected tournaments.”

Five of the eleven participating Austrians come from Tyrol: In addition to Schindlhof-based Evelyn Haim-Swarovski Amanda Hartung, Stefanie Palm (last year’s first Tyrolean winner at Schindlhof in 18 years in the small tour of the Prix St. Geores), Teresa Rochelt, Haim- Swarovski’s niece, and Franziska Gruber participate. For the Austrians their appearance in the dressage arena of Schindlhof is also the qualifying for the World Equestrian Games.
