The 5-year old Escolar and the 6-year old Geraldine were the winners of the well attended Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the regional show in Borchen-Etteln on 20 - 22 June 2014. The L-level test was judged by Peter Mannheims, Reinhard Richenhagen, and Ulrike Hunecke. The M-level test was assessed by Mannheims, Richenhagen and Petra Steinmeier.
Professional dressage rider Hubertus Schmidt and the Westfalian licensed stallion Escolar (by Estobar x Furst Piccolo) topped the leader board with one of the season's highest overall scores so far, an 8.8. The duo got a 9.5 for trot, 7.5 for walk, 9.5 for canter, 8.5 for submission and 9.0 for general impression. Claudia Ruscher and Hedda Droege's Westfalian gelding Ernesto (by Ehrenwort x Florestan) were second with 8.3. This pair got 8.5 for trot and canter, 8 for walk and submission and 8.5 for general impression.
In the 6-year old division Ingrid Klimke and Ulrich Zeising's Rhinelander mare Geraldine (by Furst Grandios x Tolstoi) aced the class with a total of 8.1. The chestnut mare scored 9 for trot, 8 for walk, 7.5 for canter and submission and 8.5 for general impression. Lilian Schilling and her own Westfalian mare Diba (by Damon Hill x Dream of Heidelberg) were second with 8.0. This liver chestnut mare got 8 for trot and canter, 8.5 for walk, 7.5 for submission and 8.0 for general impression.
