Thurman-Baker Drops Out, Lucas On British Team for 2014 European Young Riders Championships

Four days before the horses are leaving for the 2014 European Young Riders Championships in Arezzo, Italy, a further change to the British team has taken place. This morning Samantha Thurman-Baker and Highcliffe Apollo have withdrawn.

Thurman-Baker and her 12-year old Hanoverian gelding Highcliffe Apollo (by Dev Lenz) are not fit to compete.

Essex rider Gabrielle Lucas and her own 15-year old gelding Laurentius (by Lauries Crusador xx x World Cup I) are now promoted to the team from reserve spot.

This will be World Class Development Squad rider Gaby’s debut at young rider level having represented Britain in 2012 on the junior team with the 18.1hh standing ‘Lause’.

The 2014 European Junior and Young Riders Championships in Arezzo, Italy take place 9 – 13 July 2014.
