Canadian Teams Selected for 2014 North American Junior/Young Riders Championships

The Dressage Canada Youth High Performance Committee and Dressage Selection Panel announced the selected athletes who will represent Canada at the 2014 North American Junior & Young Rider Championships, held July 15-20, 2014 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY.

Three teams, for a total of 11 competitors, have been named to represent Canada at the Junior Rider level.

Junior Team Quebec / Alberta will include the following athletes:

Camille Carier Bergeron - Lowelas
Rakeya Moussa - Merlin Nemorensis
Beatrice Boucher - Fiori
Melissa Jodoin - O'phelie

Junior Team Ontario will include the following athletes:

Alexandra Meghji - Iliado II
Vanessa Creech-Terauds - Finja
Liza Wilson - Fleurina
Sophie Dean-Potter - Frisbee
Team Reserve 1 - Danielle Myronyk - Nairobi
Team Reserve 2 - Sarah Mather - Pogo

Junior Team British Columbia / New Brunswick will include the following athletes:

Lindsay Stuart - Unique
Hannah Beaulieu - Pharaoh
Alyssa Gaudet - Palladio

Three teams for a total of 10 competitors have been named to represent Canada at the Young Rider level.

Young Rider Team Quebec will include the following athletes:

Laurence Blais Tetreault - Michelangelo
Tanya Strasser - Shostak - Action Tyme
Julie Channell - Furstin Anastasia
Naima Moreira Laliberte - Nao Guimeraie

Young Rider Team Ontario will include the following athletes:

Mariah Sutton - Renoir
Cassandra Jessop - Mariska
Erica Flak - Fraggle Rocks

Young Rider Team British Columbia / Alberta / Manitoba will include the following athletes

Amy Wellburn - Cape Town
David Ziegle - Peninsula Top Man
Nachelle Forde - Sir Elton

The chef d'équipes for the 2014 North American Junior, Young Rider Championships will again be Leslie Steele of Pitt Meadows, BC and Ellen Rumball of Hillsburgh, ON. Steele and Rumball will be assisted on site by shadow chef's Alison Brebner of Osgoode, ON, and Nina Urff of Langley, BC.
