Former Danish team rider Sune Hansen and his Grand Prix wife Emily Ward-Hansen are moving to Great Britain. As of 1 August 2014 they will relocate from Kirstineholm, Denmark, to East Sussex, Great Britain.

Hansen worked in Germany for 15 years and briefly stayed in Holland before moving back to his native country Denmark in 2009 to become head rider at Blue Hors Stud. Hansen worked at Blue Hors for three years and then trained for three years out of Peer and Hanne Ejlersgaard's yard.

With the support from their sponsors, Hansen and Ward have acquired a property at Maynard's Green in East Sussex, England.  Spring Hill Farm was previously a racehorse stud which they will be converting to a dressage stable. The property comprises 24 stables and 23 hectares of fields and woodland.  The building of a 20x60 indoor and the outdoor arenas will start soon.

"We have really enjoyed our time with Peer and Hanne," Ward told Eurodressage. "Sune will continue to be connected to Kirstineholm and he will be back to give clinics on a regular basis so he can still maintain contact with the many riders and breeders he has got to know over our total of five years in Denmark."

Riding for Antigua, Emily Ward became a first-time mom on 17 December 2012 but has not given up on her own dressage. The couple will be taking 12 horses with them, three which are almost Grand Prix ready. Rainer Schwiebert's 11-year old Charmeur (by Crelido) and Hasse Hoffmann's 12-year old Mr Moose (by Master) will be making their debut at Grand Prix this summer. The Eriksen family's 8-year old Carsoni (by Carson Ask) is ready to go small tour.

"The aim is train and compete at the top level and we have some exciting horses to take with us to England.  Sune aims to be part of the Danish team again," she added.
