Seventeen horse and rider combinations have been selected to participate in the 2014 Piaff Forderpreis show circuit for German Under 25 Grand Prix riders. The pairs were selected based on their performances during a training seminar in Warendorf with the Under 25 Team trainer Jurgen Koschel. Thirty-two riders were invited for the training sessions in Warendorf.

"The seminar was not just high quantity but also high quality," said Jurgen Koschel after wrapping up the two-day seminar. This year many home trainers joined their students in Warendorf to communicate with the judges and team trainer on future progress. "Parents and trainers now realize how important this circuit is for the development of rider and horse," Koschel stated.

No less than 32 riders came to Warendorf and brought almost 50 Grand Prix horses with them. Thirty pairs were selected to ride a test in show atmosphere on Sunday 2 February 2014. "There was a lot of interest, especially interest in willing to learn. Even the older, more experienced horses improved during the seminar," said team trainer Monica Theodorescu. She commented on each ride during the video-review moment.

One of the participants was German Young rider team member Charlott Maria Schurmann on her 2012 Nurnberger Burgpokal winner Burlington (by Breitling W x Rohdiamant). She was the high scoring rider on Sunday with 73.876%, ahead of 2013 Piaff Forderpreis winner Nadine Husenbeth on Florida. Judges Koschel, Katharina Wust and Evi Eisenhardt scored Husenbeth's test a 72.171%.  "The value of a solid basic training was proven again," said Koschel.

Sanneke Rothenberger also scored above 70% with two horses. Aboard Favourit she earned 71.938% and with Wolke Sieben she got 71.822%. Ulla Salzgeber's student Lisa Marie Klossinger earned 71.822% aboard New Lord.  New comer on the scene, Lisa Müller earned 69.186% for her ride on Dave, while Stella Charlott Roth and Rubin Action posted a score of 69.031%.

"It's unbelievable to have such a big field at the top," said judge Eisenhardt. "Just what we are aiming for! Three of the four team members at the 2013 European Championships have their roots in this program."
