The Spanish Dressage Committee has released the criteria for team selection for the Spanish pony, junior and young riders which aim to compete at the 2014 European Championships this summer.
Four dressage competitions have been picked as observation and selection trial, where potential team candidates have to prove form in order to be long and short-listed for team nomination. The qualiers are:
- CDI Barcelona - 18-23 March or 25 - 30 March
- CDI Segovia - 17 - 20 April
- CDI Madrid - 22 - 25 May
- 2014 Spanish Dressage Championships - Can Alzina - 5 - 8 June
The long listed riders will be announced on 1 April 2014, the short list will be released on 28 May and the final team will be announced after the National Championships on 15 June 2014.
The Spanish youth team trainer is Nicky Barret and the youth representative is Lauro Aguilo.
The selected Junior/Young Riders team will go into training camp at Beatriz Ferrer-Salat's Villa Equus in Barcelona on 4 July 2014. No training camp is scheduled for the pony riders.
