What's Happening in the Dressage World?

Former Dutch team rider Laurens van Lieren and his fiancee, Dutch Prix St Georges level champion Lynne Maas, became the proud parents of their first child, a boy.

The baby was born on 3 January 2014 and has been officially named Brenton Johannes van Lieren, but he will be called Brent.

Laurens van Lieren was member of the Dutch dressage team that competed at the 2005 and 2007 European Championships and 2006 World Equestrian Games.

Lynne Maas is the four time Dutch Indoor PSG Champion. Maas and her Dutch warmblood gelding Salo (by Ferro x Havel) were champions in 2008 and repeated the feat in 2011. In 2012 Maas won the title with her second horse Zamora. After a long period of injury Salo returned to the show ring in January 2013 and earned his third indoor PSG title in March 2013.

Van Lieren proposed to Maas at the beginning of May 2013. In July they announced the pregnancy.

Congratulations!
