In 2013 Dutch former Grand Prix team rider Laurens van Lieren was in the fortunate position to have three Grand Prix horses to compete internationally. At the end of the year he has only one left. After his top horse Wellnetta sold to the U.S.A., his second GP horse Tyara has now switched owners as well.

Bred by Klaas Christiaanse in Middelburg, The Netherlands, the chestnut Guelderlander mare Tyara (by Farrington x Bazuin) was initially competed by Mieke Evertse who brought the horse to Grand Prix level. In 2013 Laurens van Lieren took over the ride to boost the horse's show results with as goal to sell her.

Van Lieren and the 13-year old Tyara competed extensively in the spring and summer, producing scores between 64% and 71% at events such as the Dutch Indoor Championships and the CDI Roosendaal, CDIO Hickstead, and CDIO Vidauban.

Laurens' father and trainer Leunis van Lieren commented on the sale of the horse: "It was an international affair because through a German dealer an Argentinian rider arrived her at the barn, together with a judge from the country and his Spanish trainer. They were looking for a well trained Grand Prix horse. He tried out Tyara and rode her easily so the deal was done quickly."

Tyara leaves The Netherlands on Thursday 28 November. She will first go to Germany and then fly to Argentina.
