The 17-year old licensed Dutch warmblood stallion OO Seven has been retired from competition to stand at stud at his owners Amanda and David Shoobridge's stallion station Revelwood in Australia.

"I have decided to retire OO Seven from competition due to juggling his breeding commitments and an injury that has required some maintenance. We could have managed another season of competing but in OO Seven's best interest, I have decided that his new full time career is a breeding stallion," Shoobridge explained."

OO Seven (by Rubinstein x Doruto x Amor) was acquired by the Shoobridge family in September 2011 mainly as a breeding stallion, but the black stallion actually produced his career highlights and his swan song with David in the Australian competition ring. At their first big CDI Grand Prix show, David and OO Seven were third in the Grand Prix and scored 70.425% in their first Kur. They won the Grand Prix with 67.000% and Kur to Music with 73.575% at the 2013 CDI-W Werribee.

"OO Seven has given me many opportunities in sport and I owe it to him to offer a sound, happy and healthy retirement. He's a horse with a big heart and would have continued for as long as I needed without question. That's his nature and this is why it's been a hard decision. He would happily front up for work for as long as we'd ask - he would have an extra flash trot as he'd pass the mirrors and he'd feel like a breaker (fresh) after a few days off! He's a horse full of character, but then 100% trustworthy."

Shoobridge bought OO Seven at the time without having test ridden him. David will continue his competition career aboard the 8-year old Dutch bred Agent de Jeu (by OO Seven x Florestan).

OO Seven's most successful offspring include Stephanie Kooijman's European Young Riders team gold medal winning Winston, Sarah Lockman's American small tour horse Vinterpol, and the Swedish owned Dutch licensed stallion Zuidenwind.
