The chestnut colt La Grande Belezza became the price highlight of the 56th Riedlinger Foal Auction in Riedlingen, Germany, on 29 August 2013. The Lemony's Nicket x Gribaldi colt sold for 18,500 euro.
Bred by Matthias Schönenberger, La Grande Belezza descends from the same dam line as Nadine Capellmann's Girasol and sold for 18,500 euro to the Tanner family.
Four out of a collection of 45 Baden-Wurttemberger bred foals sold for more than 10,000 euro. The dressage bred Frankana (by Franziskus x Rubin Royal) sold for 10,000 euro . This filly is bred by Franziska Wiederkehr-Grafen in Switzerland.
Breeder Gerhard Pfeiffer sold his jumper colt Delta Force (by Diarado x Cassini) for 11,000 to buyers from Texas, USA. Show jumping rider Mangred Marschall acquired the dark bay filly Calgary (by Calido x Diarado) for 10,000 euro.
The average price for a foal at Riedlingen was 4880 euro. The Marbach state stud acquired five foals, renowned stallion owner Thomas Casper of Gestut Birkhof bought two.
