Spain's number one Grand Prix rider Juan Manual Munoz Diaz has withdrawn his top mount Fuego from competing on the Spanish team at the 2013 European Dressage Championships in Herning, Denmark, next week. This leaves Spain without a team as only two combinations will represent the country at the show.

The PRE licensed stallion Fuego (by Utrerano VII out of Mundana) injured himself this morning during one of the last sessions at the training camp held at Beatriz Ferrer-Salat's Villa Equus near Barcelona.. The horse was immediately inspected by a veterinary team but they brought the bad tiding that Fuego would not be fit to compete in Herning, where the show takes place on 20 - 25 August 2013.

Spain now loses its team and will only have Jose Daniel Martin Dockx on Grandioso and Jose Antonio Garcia Mena on Norte as representatives.
