Equestrian Australia announced they have revised their National Dressage Rules as of 1 July 2013 and nose nets are now permitted for use in both warm-up and competition provided written approval is sought in advance from the ADC*.

The rules are specific about the design of the Nose nets: "The nose net must be made of transparent material as per the example at 2.22. The nose net should not cover the mouth or bit."

Net Relief Muzzle Net from Equilibrium Products completely complies with the rules and is the example product used to illustrate the rule.

Net Relief Muzzle Net has been permitted by British Dressage for many years because of its unobtrusive design and has recently been approved for use in New Zealand. Since its launch in 2000 it has helped to provide relief to thousands of horses that suffer from headshaking. It has been proven in clinical trials to provide relief to 79% of Sufferers (De Montfort University 1999).

Equilibrium Products, Company Founder, Margaret Donnelly, said ‘I’m delighted to learn that Equestrian Australia have legalised the use of Nose Nets for Dressage. This will now enable many horses to continue to compete comfortably that would otherwise be unable to do so.”
