Sharleen, Top Seller at the 2013 Westfalian Elite Foal Auction

Not a colt but filly Sharleen (by Sir Donnerhall x De Niro) became the top selling horse at the 2013 Westfalian Elite Foal Auction held in Munster-Handorf on 3 August 2013.

The dark bay filly, bred by Hans Hermann Winkelmann, sold for 27,000 euro.

The second most expensive foal was colt Rock Amaro (by Rock Forever x Sir Donnerhall I), bred by Katharina Hadeler. The bay stallion sold for 20,000 euro.

The third most expensive foal was filly Franziska (by Franziskus x Steinger), which achieved a knock down price of 18,000 euro. Filly Santolina (by San Amour x Fidermark) changed owners for 15,000 euro.

The bay colt Hopes are High (by Hermes de Lux x Diarado) was the best selling jumper foal. He moves stables for 13,000 euro. The bay colt Vitales Kerlchen (by Vitalis x Furt Piccolo) found a new owner for 12,000 euro.

Twenty-six pony and Haflinger foals were sold at this auction as well. They achieved an average price of 3,381 euro but the top sellers were colt Crunchy Nut (by Champion de Luxe x Top Nonstop) and filly Anna Bella (by A New Star x Leon) which both sold for 7,000 euro.

A total of 95 sport horse foals were sold, of which 63 were colts and 32 fillies. They achieved an average price of 5,862 euro.  Six foals were bought by Belgian buyers, three move to Sweden, two to Holland, England, Italy, and Luxembourg.
