Jan Brink's 7-year old small tour horse JJ Rayban underwent emergency surgery following a sudden colic attack on Friday evening 21 June 2013. He will no longer be standing at stud during the 2013 breeding season.

Right after winning an advanced medium level test at the national dressage show in Everlov, JJ Rayban showed symptoms of colic and was immediately transported to the regional veterinary clinic in Helsingborg, where he was operated on.

Making a career in Sweden the Hanoverian branded JJ Rayban (by Rascalino x Londonderry) was the champion of the 3-year-old dressage stallion in 2009 and won the stallion performance testing in 2010. He went on to win the Swedish Young Horse Championship for 5-year-olds in Flyinge in 2011 and for 6-year-olds in 2012.

The chestnut JJ Rayban is bred by Klaus Jurgens in Germany and owned by Patrik Hannell.
