Michelle Hagman's Grand Prix dressage horse Rudi's Memory has been sold to Japanese Olympian Mieko Yagi. The 13-year old chestnut will be Yagi's 2014 World Equestrian Games and 2016 Rio hopeful.

Rudi's Memory is bred by Horst Dieter Jager and is by Gribaldi x Bartholdy x Falkner. The chestnut was discovered as a 2,5 year old by German trainer and horse dealer Katrin Bettenworth at the Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster.

Bettenworth acquired the horse together with the Apeldoorn based German couple Karin and Rudi Holländer. Shortly after the acquisition owner Rudi passed away from cancer and the horse was named Rudi's Memory. Bettenworth trained him to Grand Prix level and then sold her half  to horse dealer Arnold Winter.

Michelle Hagman then took over the ride on Rudi's Memory and with the sensitive gelding she was successful at international Grand Prix level. The combination was submitted to the Swedish B-team.  They celebrated victory at the 2012 CDI-W Warsaw and top placing at the 2012 CDI Fritzens, for instance. They were part of the fourth placing Swedish team at the 2012 CDIO Aachen.

Yagi recently retired her 19-year old Grand Prix horse Dow Jones, which she competed at the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
