Carl Hester and Roly Luard, with the approval of the British Dressage Selectors, have entered Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro at Rotterdam, The Netherlands on 19-23 June 2013. It will be Valegro's second competition since winning gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and breaking the world record at the 2012 CDI-W London in December 2012.

Charlotte will also be competing Uthopia at Compiegne, France (31 May- 2 June), hoping to qualify for the Europeans later this year. If Charlotte obtains the qualification criteria at Compiegne, this will mean that she will have achieved the correct qualifications with two horses in order to be eligible to compete at the European Championships, if selected.

Carl has entered Dances with Wolves at both Compiegne and Rotterdam; he has also obtained the qualifications needed to be eligible to be selected this year, with Uthopia, Dances with Wolves and Fine Time IV.

Equestrian Performance Director Will Connell commented; “It’s great news that Carl will be campaigning new horses in 2013 and that we’ll see Charlotte competing her Olympic ride this year. If they are available for selection for Championships in the future, it is great news for both British dressage and Charlotte / Valegro's legion of fans. We will take each year as it comes and remain extremely grateful to all Owners that support British riders”.
