Hans Peter Minderhoud has been forced to withdraw the Austrian owned Oldenburg stallion Romanov (by Rohdiamant x Grundstein II) from competition at the 2013 CDI Villach in Austria.

Minderhoud and Romanov wrapped up a 70.681% earning Grand Prix test on Thursday afternoon 16 May 2013, which ranked them third, but the bay stallion injured himself right afterwards.

"Romanov must have stood on something, as his hoof started bleeding and so to be on the safe side there’s only one thing for it: get the vet to treat it and stop Romanov from starting here,” said a disappointed Minderhoud after consultating with Romanov's owners Gaston and Kathrin Glock.

Hans Peter will continue competing at the CDI Villach with Lord of Loxley (by Lord Sinclair). With this bay stallion he placed second posting a score of 71.362% in the morning CDI 3* Grand Prix.
