With the last qualifier concluded in Nürnberg, Germany, last weekend, the qualified combinations for the 2012 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals in Frankfurt, Germany, are known.
Former German young rider Victoria Michalke won the last selection trial at the small national show in Nurnberg, held co-incidingly with an equine trade fair at the city's expo center. Aboard the 7-year old Oldenburg bred Wasabi (by Welt Hit IV x Lancer I) Michalke scored a winning mark of 71.122%, beating Ingrid Klimke on the Westfalian gelding Dresden Mann (by Dresemann) with 70.195%.
Sixteen combinations qualified for the 2012 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals, which are the unofficial developing Prix St Georges horse championships.
One combination will not be present at the final in Frankfurt, Germany, on 15 December 2012: Patrik Kittel and UNO Donna Unique. They were the highest scoring duo of the season (78.098%), but the ride on Donna Unique was given to Ulla Salzgeber in September. The 22-year old Kathleen Keller accomplished a strong feat, qualifying two horses for the Final: Desperados (by Danone I x Werther) and Lord (by Laurentio x Andiamo).
