Emilie Nyrerod Nominated for 2012 Comet of the Year Award

The 25-year old Swedish dressage rider Emilie Nyrerod has been nominated for the Comet of the Year Award at the 2012 Swedish Riders' Gala held on 28 November 2012. 

The Swedish magazine Ridsport annually picks the three best upcoming Swedish rider which they consider to be rising stars. This year Ridsport nominated jumping rider Petronella Andersson, dressage rider Emilie Nyrerod and eventing rider Oscar Eriksson. Readers can vote until 31 October for their favourite.

The Comet of the Year award recognizes a Swedish rider who produced outstanding results at a high level and has the potential to become a top star.

Emilie Nyrerod works as a rider at her family's business Hagby Farm in Skultuna, Sweden. She mainly focused on young horses, which she competed at national championships but in 2011 she made her international Under 25 Grand Prix debut on the bay gelding Miata (by Lancado x Grasco). She is also the owner of the young stallion Sir Donnerhall II (by Sandro Hit x Donnerhall), which won bronze as a 6-year old under Thomas Sigtenbjerggaard at the 2012 World Young Horse Championships. On a national level, Emilie won three out of four Swedish Under 25 shows.
