Dieter Laugks has resigned from his position as head trainer at Toni and Marina Meggle's dressage stable in south Germany. Dieter and his wife Dodo have decided to go independent and will leave Meggle at the end of November 2012.

The originally Dusseldorf based Dieter and Dodo Laugks relocated to Meggle stable in Bavaria in 2006 to take up the management of the barn. Dieter received the ride on Weltall VA (by Weltmeyer) with which he achieved scores up to 79.5% at Grand Prix level.

"We are very grateful for the great time we were able to spend together," Dieter Laugks commented. "The equestrian centre in Dunsern is a fantastic riding facility which made it difficult for us to decide to leave. Because the Meggle family's facility is a private one it was impossible for me to train clients' horses and students. Apart from own competition career, I like to train riders and horses to Grand Prix level. In the future I will be able to do that again."

Laugks has not yet found a new base but has stated he prefers to stay in the Munich area. Dieter is a lawyer by profession, specialised in equine law.
