Tropical storm Isaac struck hard on the Wellington equestrian community flooding streets, canals, pastures and arenas. Village leaders in Wellington have requested help from the National Guard after Isaac dumped nearly 14 inches of rain in the community.

Several canals have overflown onto the roadways. Numerous roads have been closed off and in some canals water is still rising as it continues to rain in Florida. School has been cancelled in the area.

The world famous Wellington show grounds as well as the golf course are underwater.

Community officials are monitoring water levels and are maintaining water pumps at maximum levels.

Isaac is now heading to Louisiani and gaining strength. The tropical storm might turn into a full blown hurricane when reaching land.
