Apropos K, Price Highlight of the 2012 Oldenburg Elite Foal Auction

Apropos K became the price highlight of the Oldenburg Elite Foal Auction held in Vechta, Germany on Saturday 25 August 2012. The bay colt sold for 85,000 euro to Danish Lone Boegh Henriksen, the co-owner of the auction price highlight and licensing champion Furstenball.

Apropos K is by Apache x Don Romantic x Grundstein II. The breeder of the foal is Hermann Kretz, who bought dam Donna Benny at the 2011 Summer Mixed Sales in Vechta.

The second most expensive foal was the Belgian bred Romualdo (by Romanov x Sandro Hit x Continue). The chestnut colt, which was initially named Romanof's Hit van het Klaverhof, sold for 35,000 euro to Carsten Johansen in Sweden. The most expensive show jumping foal was My Hope (by Mylord Carthago x Pilot) which sold for 23,000 euro.

The black colt Maik's Traum (by Millennium x De Niro) sold for 25,000 euro to India. Danish buyers acquired Faszination (by Foundation x De Niro) for 32,000 euro, the colt Solidro (by San Amour x Rohdiamant) for 20,000 euro, the liver chestnut colt Damon's Pride (by Damon Hill x Raphael) for 20,000 euro and the chestnut colt Qualitat Pur (by Quaterback x Calypso I) for 18,000 euro.

The chestnut colt Zaphiro (by Zack x Don Romantic) sold for 25,000 euro to German clients from Nordrhine Westfalia.

The average price for a foal at this auction was 10.224 euro. Forty-two foals in total sold abroad.
