Wilken Treu Appointed Breeding Director of the Westfalian Society

Wilken Treu has been appointed the new breeding director and manager of the Westfalian verband. Chair Karl Hubertus von Beverfoerde broke the news today at a press conference. Treu will cover the position as of 1 October 2012.

The 30-year Rohrsen based horseman has an equestrian background with dressage as focal point. He was trained to S-level under the tutelage of Hannes Baumgart.  Wilken studied Agricultural science and business in Göttingen and completed a Masters degree.

In 2007 he started work as stud director of Paul Schockemohle's Gestut Lewitz in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In January 2010 he switched positions and worked in the marketing and management department of the Sachsen-Anhalt State Stud. He also became head of the horse performance tests there.

On 1 October 2012 he'll move from Saschen-Anhalt to the Westfalian verband office in Munster-Handorf.
