The 5-year old Red Pearl and 6-year old Rikki's Fjalah became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the Elmloher Rider Days in Elmlohe, Germany, on 26 July 2012. Thirty-two horses in total gathered in Elmlohe in an attempt to qualify for the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf begin September.
In the 5-year old division group 1 Mike Habermann and the Hanoverian bred mare Red Pearl (by Royal Blend x Wolkentanz I) aced the L-level dressage test with an 8.5 score. Judges Heinz Lemmermann and Peter Olsson placed the liver chestnut mare first. Stefan Blanken and the Hanoverian mare Serafina (by Sir Donnerhall x Natiello xx) finished in second place with 8.1, while Juliane Brunkhorst and the Hanoverian stallion Homer (by Hofrat x Calypso II) were third with 8.0.
In the 5-year old division group 2, Viola Abraham's bereiter Friederike von Waaden and the Oldenburg gelding Happy Texas Moonlight (by Happy Diamond x Top of Class) scored a winning 8.2 mark. She kept Eva Moller on the Oldenburg Davero (by Dimaggio x Sandro Hit) at bay. Moller finished second with 8.1 and was 0.1 point ahead of Raphael Thomas on Santo (by Sorento).
A smaller group of horses gathered for the 6-year old M-level test, which was won by Viola Abrahams on Rikki's Fjalah (by Florencio x Duntroon). The bay Oldenburg mare scored 8.5 to top the leader board and place well ahead of second ranked Steffen Frahm on the Hanoverian stallion Lord Laurie (by Lord Loxley x Lauries Crusador xx). This combination qualified for Warendorf with its 8.0 score. Sascha Böhnke and the Hanoverian gelding Furst Royal (by Furst Heinrich x Sir Scholling) were third with 7.6.
