Sir Classic and Gucci H Win Fifth Belgian WCYH Trial at 2012 CDN Moorsele

Sir Classic and Gucci H became the winning horses in the WCYH Verden qualification classes held at the national show in Moorsele, Belgium, on Saturday 26 May 2012. Because of the cancellation of the CDN Flemalle, the show in Moorsele was the fifth out of sixth qualifiers where Belgian combinations can obtain qualification scores for Belgian respresentation at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden.

"Because of the cancellation of the CDN Flemalle, the selection criteria for the World Championships have changed," the press officer of the Belgian Equestrian Federation communicated. "The best 5 results out of 6 qualifiers count for the ranking and the CDN Zandhoven on 9 june will be crucual as it will be the only selection trial where the Finals Test will be ridden. In case of a tie between horses the score in this Finals Test will carry through."

In the 5-year old division at the CDN Moorsele, Stefan Hollanders and Frans van Hove's stallion Sir Classic (by Sir Donnerhall x Classiker) topped the leader board with an 80.80 score, while Dominique Mohiment and the Dutch warmblood Chopin (by ) placed second with 79.200. Nick van Laer and Sir Donovan (by Sir Donnerhall x Weltmeyer x Bolero) completed the top three with a 77.20 score.

In the 6-year old preliminary test, Tom Heylen and Gucci H (by Gribaldi x Wundermeyer) ruled the roost with a 74.20 score. Katrien Verreet and the grey licensed stallion Galliani Biolley were the runners-up with 73.20, while Mario van Orshaegen and the Dutch warmblood Bizzkit Lusan (by Sandreo x Osmium) were third with 72.60.

Fifteen 4-year olds gathered in Moorsele to battle it out. Isabel Cool and the Dutch warmblood Dario (by Metall x Ro-Lex x Ferro) booked a second consecutive victory in their division, this time posting a score of 83.20. Stefany Dieltjens and the Belgian warmblood Il Locco van het Molenzicht (by Belissimo M x Camus) were second with 74.20 and Amandine Prevost slotted in third on the SBS registered Chaïna de Deminche (by Stedinger x Donnerhall) with 73.60.
