Nicole Casper's 8-year old Baden Wurttemberger licensed stallion Don Diamond got severely injured at the regional show in Nussloch and might be lost for competition sport.

Casper had planned on competing her liver chestnut stallion this weekend at the regional show in Nussloch near Heidelberg but the stallion injured himself in the tent-stall at the show. The horse was immediately transported to the equine clinic Salzhofen in Bretten, Germany, where he was operated on.

"Initially we thought that he wouldn't make it," Casper told Zuchterforum. "But now he passed the critical point and it's obvious that he will be saved for breeding. So far it is unsure whether his sport career can be continued."

Bred by Stefanie Hofmann, Don Diamond is a 2004 born stallion by Diamond Hit out of Crazy Horse (by Carolus x Wenzel I). He was the champion of the 2007 South German stallion licensing, 2008 reserve Bundeschampion and multiple regional champion. In 2011 he competed in the Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals in Frankfurt.

Don Diamond has four licensed offspring.
