Luxembourg based Danish Grand Prix rider Fie Skarsoe has received a new horse in training: the 7-year old Oldenburg licensed stallion Statesman (by Stedinger x Donnerschwee). The dark bay stallion is owned by the Luxembourg company Lux Dressage.

Bred by American Ann Kitchel, Statesman was the bronze medalist at the 2008 Bundeschampionate for 3-year olds and sold a month later for the record price of 400,000 euro at the 2008 Vechta Autumn Elite Auction to Lux Dressage.

Under Heike Klausing the dark bay stallion finished 6th at the 2009 Bundeschampionate. In 2010 the stallion qualified again for the Bundeschampionate under John McCormack, but did not compete in Warendorf.

The now 7-year old Statesman will continue his FEI career under Danish Fie Skarsoe, who will bring to stallion to FEI Level. For that reason, Statesmanw ill not be standing at stud in 2012.

"Mr McCormack unfortunately no longer had the time to compete Statesman internationally so we agreed with him to give the stallion to Fie Skarsoe," Lux Dressage told Eurodressage. "Fie brings the same kind of very refined riding and training style to the table, just like McCormack."

"I'm very happy to have such a high quality stallion in training," Skarsoe commented.
