Canadian young riders Esmee Ingham and Lindsay Seidel-Wassenaar have been invited to compete at the 2012 CDI Sydney invitational. The CDI Sydney is Australia's most prestigious competition and annually invites two riders from three foreign nations (Great Britain, U.S.A. and Canada) alongside Australian and New Zealand competitors for the Small Tour Derby.

The event is held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC) on Saxony Road, Horsley Park. SIEC was the venue for the Equestrian events of the Olympic Games. Government authorities have maintained its immaculate condition. The invited riders are allocated a loan horse  prior to the event for the Prix St Georges and the Intermediate I.

"I am so privileged to have the opportunity to represent Canada again, as well as having the support of my parents Frank and Candie to travel and experience this journey alongside me," Ingham told Eurodressage. "I cannot thank my coach Wendy Christoff enough for all of her training over the past seven years, as well as the intense boot-camp she had put into place over the past couple of weeks in preparation for this event. To have been selected by Dressage Canada is an honour and I look forward to following in the footsteps of talented Canadian riders, many of whom have been my inspiration."

Seidel-Wassenaar is also looking forward to the opportunity to compete in Sydney. "When I received news of Esmee and I being chosen to represent Canada at the 2012 Sydney Invitational CDI3* I was overwhelmed with excitement for not only the amazing opportunity to compete in such a prestigious international dressage competition, but also to represent my country in the sport of dressage," said Seidel-Wassenaar. "I am very honoured and look forward to proudly wearing a Canadian flag in the Australian show ring! I feel very fortunate to have been given this opportunity and am eager to gain further international competition experience.”

An impressive line up of judges will officiate at the event.
