US Olympic Team Speculation Begins to Take Shape at 2012 CDI-W Del Mar

With competition well underway in Del Mar California, Friday’s small but potent Grand Prix for the Freestyle class gave spectators and US Dressage Team “Boss” Anne Gribbons as well as the judges’ panel a taste of what is to come as the new union of Steffen Peters and Legolas the 10-year-old Westfalen gelding by  Laomoden x Florestan II upped their personal best in the test with a 75.809%.

“I am happy for him,” comment Gustaf Svalling newly appointed 5* judge by the FEI. “ His piaffe passage transitions were very good, and it is a pleasure to watch such an expert rider. While there were some parts which were a bit conservative I am aware this is a new combination and look forward to an exciting future for the pair.”

Jan Ebeling and the lovely and seasoned mare Rafalca, the 15-year old Oldenburg mare by Argentinus x Rubinstein I and owned in partnership with Ann Romney wife of Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Beth Meyer and Amy Roberts Ebeling put in a solid harmonious ride landing a score of 71.468%.
