Hotzenplotz became the top selling horse at the young sport horse auction which the Landgestut Marbach organized on 3 March 2012. Nineteen sport horses were offered for sale and sold for an average price of 11,124 euro.

The 4-year old Hotzenplotz (by Hochfein x Flirt x Herzbube) sold for the top knock down price of 25,000 euro. Bred by the state stud Marbach, this black colt sold to Canada. Sirius Black (by Sir Nymphenburg x Hohenstein x Weltmeyer) sold to North America for 24,000 euro. 

Dressage stable Schrodter bought Dawina (by Danone II x Matcho Son x Darius) for 8,700 euro

Most expensive show jumper was Corneille (by Cornet Obolensky x Lancer III), which sold for 19,000 euro.
