Dutch under 25 rider Chantal van Lanen has broken her foot in three places and will be out for six weeks. The rider got involved in a barn accident and was trampled by a horse.

"Yesterday in passage, today in a cast," said Van Lanen sarcastically. "I was taking a horse to the walker when he spooked, panicked and launched himself forward," Van Lanen told Eurodressage. "He threw me on the ground and trampled me. He stood on my leg and foot with the known consequences."

In the late 2000s, Chantal van Lanen was extremely successful with the bay Dutch bred Beaujolais. They became the 2007 Dutch junior riders champions and won team gold at the 2005 and 2006 European Junior Riders Championships and team silver, individual bronze and gold at the 2007 European Junior Riders championships. In October 2008 Beaujolais sold to Spain and Chantal continued her career at young riders' level with Revival, a now 14-year old Dutch warmblood gelding by Kelvin x Aktion.

Chantal has been training Revival for the Big tour and in the winter of 2011 she made her Intermediaire II debut.

"I'll make a virtue of necessity and spent the next six weeks on my studies," Van Lanen added. "I'm graduating from the Johan Cruyff University this year and this process has accelerated now. Afterwards I want to dedicate myself totally to horses."
